Last Sunday’s Sermon
The Mother’s Day Song
Thanks for seeking out Grace Lutheran Church in Chester, VA!
We’re seeking too. We’re seeking to know God and His plans for our lives better. We’re seeking to get to know others who would like to join us in that search.
We get together for worship on Sunday mornings and/or evenings. We meet in several different Bible studies. And we get together for fun, to help others, and just because we like each other.
God’s word is important to us. It’s the basis for all that we do. From it we learn of God’s great love for us, especially through His Son, Jesus.
We’ve tried to anticipate the things you might be interested in and included them on this web site, but if we’ve missed something, please don’t hesitate to call us or email us with your questions.
Welcome from the Pastor
It has been my privilege to serve the people of Grace as their pastor since 2001, and it has been a delight! This is a warm, caring, compassionate, accepting group of Christ’s followers. They are open to new ideas and new ways of expressing our faith. They enjoy worshipping together , working together, and socializing with one another. We’re grateful that visitors and guests often say of Grace, “There’s a good spirit here.”
Our teachings may be summarized in the three great watchwords of the Protestant Reformation, begun by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther in 1517:
“We are saved by grace alone,
Through faith in Christ alone,
According to Scripture alone.”
Our teachings are based soundly on the Holy Bible, which we believe to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God.
Family is important to us at Grace—our church family and the families and individuals who make up our church family.
We’re a member congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, a volunteer association of about 6,000 congregations with a world-wide mission to help others know Jesus christ and the eternal life He offers through faith.
I could tell you more, but I’d rather do that in person. Please come and spend a Sunday morning with us, get to know some of our folks, and see if Grace is a place you could make your spiritual home.
